Ortaokulu gene Bursa'da, Tahtakale'deki 2. Ortaokulda tamamladı. Ortaokulu bitirdikten sonra babasına İstanbul'a gitme arzusunda olduğunu açıkladı ve onun da onayıyla İstanbul'daki Boğaziçi Lisesi'ne makaleldı. Bu okulu birincilikle bitirdi.
